Male and Female Wards
Hospitalizationof male and female takes place in separate blocks. Patients admitted to the Cardiac Center can choose to stay in the sharedwards (at most, three beds) with a common shower and toilet facility, or in aprivate room with toilet and shower. In-patients are checked on by staff atregular intervals, to ensure their care and to administer prescribed medication. Caregivers and guardians are encouraged to participate in the careof the patient, learning form the nursing staff how to better care for their loved one’s cardiac condition. The cardiologist also visits the patient regularly and in emergency cases.
Many patients are admitted to the Cardiac Center for episodes of uncontrolled hypertension, strokes, heart attacks, and congestive heart failure. Many children are admitted with problems arising from congenital heart defects.
Pediatric / Post Operative Ward
Some wards of the Pediatric Block are set aside to rehabilitate post-operative cases. These receive attentive follow-up and monitoring from the nurses and doctors till they are discharged.
This ward is meant for new babies with Cardiac illnesses.
