Shisong, at the outskirts of Kumbo town, is about 400 KM North of Douala, the international airport and industrial capital of the Republic of Cameroon. It is 450 KM North West of Yaounde the political capital of Cameroon; 110 KM North East of Bamenda, the capital of the North West Region, and about 3 KM East of Kumbo / Tobin, the headquarters of Bui Division.

The Republic of Cameroon is divided into ten (10) Regions; the North West Province is one of the two Provinces, which are English-speaking. The Provinces are subdivided into many Divisions, one of them being Bui Division. Bui Division, to which Shisong belongs, is like the rest of the North West Province in the so called grassland of Cameroon, which is mountainous and has a savannah type of vegetation with a few areas of man-made forests composed mainly of eucalyptus and cypress trees.

St. Elizabeth Catholic General Hospital, Shisong is at an altitude of 1.700 m above sea level. It offers a healthy climate and a quiet, calm surrounding since it is away from the main road.
