Shisong Hospital a place to be
Our mission is to see and serve Christ in all by spending time to care.
We endeavor to be a referral healthcare facility in Cameroon through the combination of good management and ethical practices that foster life from its start to consummation.
St. Elizabeth’s Catholic General Hospital, Shisong is a Catholic Institution managed by the Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis since 1935. It was officially recognized by the Cameroon Government in 1952.
Our staff consists of Religious women, Religious men and the Lay professionals, persons of various religious backgrounds and nationalities, dedicated to “see and serve Christ in all by spending time to care” in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi; whereby:
Every person is respected and esteemed irrespective of their social, economic or cultural background.
Life and Nature are respected and allowed to bloom
God is acknowledged and worshipped as the “all in all.”
Openness to learn and grow is wholly embraced
So that every one may feel welcome, fulfilled and restored to life as they come here to serve and be served, to give and receive, in sickness and in health.
Shisong was the starting point, the cradle from where the Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis began to spread healthcare, educational, social/pastoral services to other parts of Cameroon, the Republic of Central Africa and Nigeria. Other notable Hospitals of theirs are St. Martin the Porres Hospital, Njinikom, Padre Pio Hospital, Douala; and St. Francis Hospital, Ntasen-Bamenda.
As a Catholic Institution, the staff is geared and committed “to see and serve Christ in all by spending time to care.”
